Music and Choirs
Presbyterians believe "Christian worship joyfully ascribes all praise and honor, glory and power to the triune God. In worship, the people of God acknowledge God's presence in the world and their lives."
We employ every gift, talent, and resource we have to render praise to the redemptive power of God at work in our lives. As the love of God transcends the power of human language to comprehend it and express our gratitude for it; we draw upon poetry, music, and other artistic expressions to magnify our adoration and praise. In that way, music serves an essential role in the worship life of our congregation. We sing "hymns, psalms, and spiritual songs to God" in grateful praise for God's manifold acts of mercy and grace that make our lives extensions of his loving presence in the world. |
We are blessed to have many devoted and talented musicians leading our congregation in song during our weekly worship service at 10:00 am. Our choir, under the direction of our Organist/Choir Director, provides leadership for our worship service. Classical, traditional, and spiritual anthems along with current praise choruses and worship songs are sung by these congregation members.
Our Children's choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 5:30 pm during the school year. We are blessed to have a large and enthusiastic group of children who share their gifts in worship throughout the year, as well as at our annual Christmas Pageant. Music is an important part of our life and worship. We are committed to providing an opportunity for all people to share their gifts and lift our hearts in grateful praise to the God who made us, redeemed us, and loves us. |
